After a good night's sleep and a lie in until 7.45am, we all had another delicious breakfast to set us up for the day ahead. Our first activity of the day was 'Tracking and Trailing'. One team set a trail and hid in the woods, while the second team had to follow the trail and find those hidden. We then had the opportunity to change roles. Some of us were found easily, while others managed to evade capture. After biscuits and squash, we walked back to camp.
Lunch was eaten at the picnic tables in the sunshine. The afternoon excitement started with the launching of the rockets we made yesterday. Water was poured into the bottles and then air was pumped into them causing them to launch across the field at great speed. All the rockets launched successfully, but the winners were Cabin 2.
This activity was followed by duck racing. Each of us took part in this activity in a variety of roles. In addition to racing a duck, we were cheerleaders, finish line judges and race marshalls. After heats, there was the final and the winning duck belonged to Isabel..
We stayed in the stream and, in our teams, we built dams. The winning dam had a difference in water height of 18cms. Once again, everyone managed to build a dam successfully and had a lot of fun.
Dinner this evening was a most delicious roast with either chicken or sausages, followed by chocolate cake with cream or yoghurt. The evening ended around the campfire where we sang songs and listened to stories. Just before bed we drank our hot chocolate while listening to the last chapter of our bedtime story. All the children were in bed by 9.45pm. Another full and exciting day!
