The autumn leaves are falling from the trees......
We have been learning about autumn this week. We enjoyed exploring the school playground to find signs of autumn. There were lots of leaves that had changed colour and had fallen to the ground. We also found lots of acorns. We collected all of these things and used them to make beautiful sticking pictures.
Welcome Back to Puffins Nursery!
We have had a wonderful first week back. Nursery Staff have done lots of home visits and met lots of lovely new children. The older children have had fun settling back in. They have especially enjoyed experimenting with our amazing new water tray system!
We look forward to welcoming the children back to Nursery on Wednesday 6th September.
Good luck to our children who will be starting in Owl Class.
We hope you have a fantastic summer!

This week we have been thinking about Easter and British traditions at nursery.
Within our Easter theme we have tasted Hot Cross Buns, made Easter nests and made Easter bonnets.

The children have also learnt the song 'Hot Cross Buns'.
We enjoyed celebrating Shrove Tuesday this week by making pancakes.
The children were good at mixing the ingredients together and were able to choose a topping. They were yummy!
Experimenting with Mark Making
We have been very interested in using tools to make marks this week at nursery. We have been using our fingers, pens and even forks to see what marks we can make. Lots of us had a go at writing our names using a paintbrush in a tray of paint.
We're going on a bear hunt......we're going to catch a big one......what a beautiful day....we're not scared!
This week we have been reading and retelling the story of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. The children were very good at joining in with the story and lots of them could retell the story in the correct order. We went on our own bear hunt in 'The Wild Area'. We even found a bear hiding in the tree. He was a very friendly bear!
