We have explored: the difference between an accident and emergency; basic first aid; how the human body functions, in particular the circulatory system; the impact of drugs, alcohol, smoking, exercise and lifestyle on our bodies; how music can be used to help in an emergency; traditional music and composers around the world; the impact that Mary Seacole had during the Crimean War and how significant she is in the present day; comparing hospitals from the 1800s to present day, especially similarities and differences between medicines used; and representing blood cells through art. Our Enquiry is teaching us key skills that will help us look after our bodies.
