Spring Term Plans
We are looking forward to a fun filled term with all the children. We will start learning all about patterns in the environment and repeating patterns. Throughout the term we will be learning lots about rhyming words and reading lots of stories with rhyming words in. We have a new 'Vets' roleplay area and a display of pets from home will encourage lots of conversation about animals. A focus text will be 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?' which will be used to inspire painting animals like those of the illustrator Eric Carle. Later in the term the focus will be on life cycles of animals and plants. We will plant seeds and watch them grow and focus in the text 'The Hungry Caterpillar'. Towards the end of term we hope the children will enjoy Easter crafts.
Below is the detailed plan for the 7 areas of learning.
The Vets Roleplay Area
A colourful start to the term!
After exploring the patterns we see around us, the Puffin children designed their own T-shirt patterns.
After sharing the story 'Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See? the children were supported to create some beautiful animal paintings for the start of the Spring term.
