Wellbeing Action Group

Wellbeing Cafe and uniform  swap

Thank you to everyone that joined us for our wellbeing cafe and uniform swap.  It was a great success with lots of friendly chat uniform selecting and delicious cakes.  We have been asked if we could host another one before the start of the next academic year.  That is certainly a wish we share so look out for the next date.  I would like to say a personal thank you to the wellbeing parents that provided the cakes- which were wonderful.

The wellbeing action group were very pleased to meet the wellbeing champions and were more than impressed with how mature, considerate and kind hearted they are.  Keep an eye out for forth coming events that are to be arranged by the wellbeing action group.

We are pleased to announce we have held our first very successful Wellbeing action group meeting.  Keep an eye on this page for further up dates.  See minutes below.

The Wellbeing Action Group Needs You!

As you are aware, we have been developing our wellbeing practices in our school.  The wellbeing champions have been established and they are now secure and confident in their roles .  The next step is to ensure that there are opportunities for parental involvement in connection to wellbeing in our school.

What is wellbeing?

Broadly, emotional wellbeing refers to the way a person thinks and feels about themselves and others.  It includes being able to adapt and deal with daily challenges(resilience and coping skills) while leading a fulfilling life. Emotional wellbeing includes being happy and confident, but nobody can feel happy all the time.  People with good wellbeing can problem-solve, manage emotions, experience empathy, be resilient and attentive.  They also have good relationships with others.

We are looking for parent/carer volunteers who would like to contribute to our whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing.  There will be opportunities to share ideas, identify needs, and support planned activities.  If this is an area you are interested in and feel that you have something to offer the role please could you register interest with Kirstin Tesoriere through email and the school office.  Our first meeting is planned for the 3rd February, straight after morning drop off  in the children's centre.  There will be refreshments available and more information will be provided then.

We look forward to welcoming you to our first meeting and working together to support our community.

Kirstin Tesoriere
